Taro root has been a staple of Hawaiian diet for centuries. Full of nutrients and vitamins, it is truly a revered food of the Islands. After harvesting, the taro root is cooked and made into poi, which has a pudding-like quality. By dehydrating the poi and mixing it with flour and other natural ingredients, we have created our delicious Taro Hawaiian Pancake Mix.
The easy-to-make Taro Hawaiian Pancake Mix creates perfectly light pancakes that taste wonderful with any of our syrups or jams.
PREPARATION INSTRUCTIONS: For 7-8 pancakes that measure 5 inches
1 cup pancake mix
3/4 cold water
Mix powder with water until mix is completely moist. Batter should be slightly lumpy. Pour about 1/4 cup batter onto a 375F griddle. Cook pancake for 1 1/2 minutes per side or until edges begin to dry. Turn only once.
INGREDIENTS: Enriched wheat flour bleached (flour, niacin, reduced iron, thiamine, mononitrate, riboflavin, folic acid), sugar, leavening (baking soda, sodium aluminum phosphate, monocalcium phosphate), partially hydrogenated vegetable oil (soybean oil), dextrose, soy flour, nonfat dry milk, salt, dry whole egg, dry buttermilk, citric acid, flavoring.
